We have had time to reflect on leadership and our role within the community. In addition, we have used our leadership ideas and strengths to come up with big plans for our capstone project. Now is the time to share these ideas!
Your assignment:
1) Post a message in response to this one.
2)Comment on at least 2 other capstone ideas. Here is a list to help you respond:
- give positive support
- provide feedback on their project
- ask questions
- make suggestions as to good links or people they can talk to about their project
- anything else for the good of the cause
We have gotten a lot of work done, but this is only the beginning! I look forward to helping each of you develop your projects.
-Ms. Pacion
I'm making a song(s) and selling them to raise money for world vision.
ReplyDeleteFor my capstone project I am going to raise awareness to stop animal abuse.
ReplyDeleteMy idea for capstone is to become the engineering/maintinece lead for our schools STEM team. I plan on leading the construction of a robot for the FIRST Robotics Competition, and hopefully make it to nationals.
ReplyDeleteFor my capstone project Im going to research and raise awareness for mental illnesses such as depression, autism, and drug induced retardation.
ReplyDeleteI am promoting autism awareness because my little brother has autism, and most people have a vague idea on what it is.
ReplyDeleteSo for my capstone project im doing something related to the Special Olympics. Why? Because I want to prove that it is good for society and how it affects those with special needs, plus I will be able to help a participant at the skating special olympics. So I get to do a project while doing something I love.
ReplyDeleteMy project is on the effects a golfer experiences with different types of golf clubs, putters and golf balls. It will also focus on the key aspects you need for the golf swing and these will be put into statistics. The reason I am doing this for my project is because I have been playing completive golf for a year now and want to apply it to my school work because it is my life. Lastly I want to be an actuary when I grow up so I am implementing this into my project to get an idea about stats. :)
ReplyDeleteFor my capstone project, I'm thinking of teaching a class (maybe music or English) to the middle school students.
ReplyDeleteMy project is on Hip Hop and I am working with Javier and Cameron. We are going to make amazing songs and sell them for something that I don't know. :)
ReplyDeleteI Am going to promote the D.A.R.E program, and make the foundation know on the A.S.U poly
ReplyDeleteMichael how do you plan to do this. Like what steps are you going to follow.
ReplyDeleteFor my Capstone project, I will research education and tutoring. Without a good education, it's very difficult to get a good job. I plan to learn what makes information stick and why it can be good for students to receive additional teaching after school and then present this information to parents and students alike. If I continue the project past ninth grade, I may become a tutor myself.
ReplyDeleteI'm volunteering at the Friends for Life animal shelter so that I can help benefit the animals' lives.
ReplyDeleteCole what is your reason for raising money for World Vision?!?
ReplyDeleteTarek that is very nice. I think that is a great idea because I myself don't know that much about it! Great Idea!
My idea is to become the Coding Captain for STEM and create an awesome program to lead our robot at least the nationals. I also plan on using this expertise to create a program that will help and advance computers.
ReplyDeleteAmi what kind of class you are going to teach? Like what grade.
ReplyDeleteCole:what types of songs
ReplyDeleteWho is unknown?
@kelly Scanlan
ReplyDeleteI hope you do a great job with that, animal abuse must be stopped!
Tarek,
ReplyDeleteThat's a pretty good idea, how do you plan on promoting awareness though? What do you plan on doing? You and Adam have a similar idea, maybe you guys could work together. Just a suggestion.
@ Tresa: Unknown is Channing.
ReplyDeleteChristiana:just volunteer, and what is your time frame?
ReplyDeleteTristan what are you going to do and how are you going to make it into a project.
ReplyDeleteI am going to be going to the middle school to teach guitar since they do not have a guitar class. I would like to just teach the students beginner lessons. If they do not have a guitar or do not have enough money to buy one then I would like to somehow talk to the district and possibly get a loan to get guitars. That is my plan for the capstone project. :D
ReplyDeleteI'm going to teach art to either the middle school or elementary.
ReplyDeleteMy capstone project is to get cats off the street and make sure that they are in stable loving homes. To do this I would like to build on cat cabins to local shelters.
ReplyDeleteMichelle,
ReplyDeleteI think it is really cool how you are doing a project on the special Olympics, while you are also doing something you like to do. Are you going to assist and help the people in the special Olympics?
@Tristan
ReplyDeleteLet's make sure to help each other! Hopefully!
Tristan, Anders, how do you plan to secure your position on Stem?
ReplyDeleteKarina,
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like a great idea! You should start tutoring now, just because your really smart and could help me with math:)
Tarek your ideas are similar to mine do you want to work together?
ReplyDeleteKelly: what animals?
ReplyDeleteBut anyways that's a great idea an you should stick with it.
Cole, what world vision are you planning to raise money for?
ReplyDeleteCheyenne, why do you want to teach art?
ReplyDeleteSounds awesome, Tristan. Are you going o work with anders at that?
ReplyDeleteMy capstone is about creating a foster home. I really wan to be. Foster mom and help out the kids in the "system". In my foster home I will be promoting a family atmosphere and give them freedom while still maintaining rules and order. It will hopefully be on a lot of land so I could have horses and farm animals. I can't Wait to get started!
ReplyDeleteYeah this is Maddy cause my iPad hates me. (;
My project is about teaching kids good leadership skills. This would be easy because my aunt runs a day care. -Xavier McCain
ReplyDeleteCristiana, world vision is a charity :) google it, pretty interesting.
ReplyDeleteMichael,
ReplyDeleteWhat age group do you plan on teaching?
Kali,
ReplyDeleteI love how your project is about how golf works. A lot of people play golf but don't know the math and science behind it. I think you should find a way to interview famous golfers and find out if they research the math and science, or if they just play on experience,
Kelly,
ReplyDeleteYes! My skating coach use to be the director of skating special Olympics, so she knows everything about it. And she told me that she would let me shadow her at the event, and possibly assistant coach. I know a great amount of her " special skater" already, and know how to work with them.
Thanks, Michelle! I don't really know what I'm doing with tutoring yet, though.
ReplyDeleteHow do u know Cameron?
ReplyDeleteFor my Capstone project, I am working with Channing and Javier to research about Hip Hop and compose a song or more than one song (if they want to) and preform it on video.
ReplyDeleteFor my capstone project I will be researching and creating pamphlets to create awareness about brain cancer.
ReplyDeleteAdam J. We should work together a little bit since I'm doing autism awareness, which is a mental illness.
ReplyDeleteMarshmallow(mariella):: I love that idea...there's so many cats out there that need homes. How are you going to get money for these cat homes(cabins)?
ReplyDeleteMichael and Cheyenne,
ReplyDeleteSince you both want to start programs at the middle school, or elementary. Even though there different subjects maybe you could present your ideas together, or work together somehow. Just a suggestion:) but good ideas overall!
That's a good idea Kelly I will consider it!:)
ReplyDeleteMichael,
ReplyDeleteJust cats and dogs to start with.
For my capstone project I am going to volunteer at the animal shelter to help them get more people to adopt the animals and donate more cages and food for the anmals

ReplyDeleteAdam: sounds awesome hope you make lots of progress
ReplyDeleteMariella: sounds great
Karina, I really like your idea! Education is so important, and to teach students to be willing to want to go to tutoring is a really good life skill.
ReplyDeleteI also admire Anders and Tristan for wanting to be STEM captains! It would be really great for a future resumes!
Cameron:
ReplyDeleteThat's cool Cameron, how are you going to do that?
Mariella:
That's a great project.
Sure Tarek what's your email
ReplyDeleteFor my capstone project, I hope to teach Shakespeare classes at the Middle School!
ReplyDeleteChristiana how do you plan on benefiting the animals, do you plan on helping them get adopted or just play with them so their not bored all day?
ReplyDeleteMariella your project sounds great I love cats hope you have fun and enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteMichael, that is a great idea! Music is something that should thrive and I think your project will help.
ReplyDeleteKassie,
ReplyDeleteWow! That sounds interesting, is there a certain reason you picked that? And once you have the pamphlets, what do you plan to do with them.? Good idea though!
Thx mmkrispy bacon I'm going to raise money by selling stuff and going to community meetings and, again selling stuff

ReplyDeleteCole I'm not yet sure if I'm going to work with Anders yet. However I will have to work with him in STEM as it is a team effort.

ReplyDeleteTristan, I am planning on starting with playing and caring for the animals and then eventually working up to adoptions.
ReplyDelete@Karina C
ReplyDeleteWe have written out resumes for the positions, and if all goes well we will get an interview, then hopefully be hired into our respective positions. But if we don't get our positions, then we're dead!
I'll email you
ReplyDeleteIt's interesting how many people are working with animals, and how many projects might be able to overlap. Some of you should find a way to work together.

ReplyDelete@everyone....
ReplyDeleteI think everyone has a good idea!! After wearedone with these we are going to be so educated on the affects of mental illnesses, drug abuse and animal abuse. We are going to make an impacted guys!!
And it looks like Tristan and Anders have a little competition!!
(:
Really Cameron?
ReplyDeleteYou all have really great ideas!! :D
ReplyDeleteMarlee,
ReplyDeleteThat doesn't surprise me:) but how do you plan to do this?? Who do you plan on talking to? What are your plans so far? And maybe consider working with other students who plan on starting programs at the middle school, you could all work together, even though there for different subjects they all revolve around the same place. Just a suggestion:) but sounds like a good idea!!
Good luck on your projects, everyone!
ReplyDeleteAdam I plan on making it onto the project by working hard and proving to the team that I am the right choice.
ReplyDeleteMichael how do you go about getting the loan?!?
ReplyDeleteI am willing to teach all ages but I would prefer older kids because younger kids annoy me, honestly. :))
ReplyDeleteMarlee how do you go about doing this?!?
ReplyDeleteTristan
ReplyDeleteBut how does that make it a project
Chistiana, we should work together! (: I am planning on volunteering at the same place you are(:
ReplyDeleteEveryone working with animals I think you have awesome ideas, I think not enough people care about animals these days.
ReplyDeleteChanning, Javier and Cameron what are y'all going to be singing about?!?
ReplyDeleteMichael,
ReplyDeleteWow, good luck with that
@Michelle
ReplyDeleteOnce I have the pamphlets with information about brain cancer I plan to put them in stores and stuff so that many people can grab them, read them, and know a little more about brain cancer, and possibly even be convinced to donate to brain cancer organizations.
Michael but if you work with younger kids you can learn patience and learn how not to be annoyed and that will help you develop this leadership quality!!:)
ReplyDeleteThat's a great idea, Kelly! I will definetly work with you.
ReplyDelete@ Kali: Potatoes :D
ReplyDeleteMichelle and Kalli,
ReplyDeleteI took two years of a class that was taught to seven and eighth graders, so I have some good ideas and individual projects that could build up to actually teaching at the Middle School. It would be a really good idea to have others that want to teach at the Middle School to collaborate and be able to work together on projects that can relate!
Adam it was on the pamphlet for options so I thought it looked cool, also if I can make a good enough program I can possibly sell it and donate to a charity.
ReplyDeleteOkay then I guess I'm working with younger kids...since all of you know I'm so into learning new things!!!!! :DD
ReplyDeleteWell that's what I want but I haven't asked what the other two want to sing about yet.
ReplyDeleteMmkrispybacon...I totally agree with you I would not have the patents to deal with little kids and I'm pretty sure you don't either...BAZINGA!
ReplyDelete@ unknown (channing doi): your idea is a good one but you have to figure out what your going to do with the money you make. Figure that out then you can start your project...
ReplyDelete@ Cheyenne Samp (shy shy): maybe we can get together and work on the same project...
HIIIIIIIIIII!!!!!!!!!!!

ReplyDeleteEveryone has a great idea. Inthinknthat everyone should follow their hearts:)
ReplyDeleteMaroonies!
ReplyDeleteThe way I will get the loan Kali is by either donations or by doing fundraisers to get money...I hope
ReplyDelete@Javier what is our song gonna be about?
ReplyDeleteMichael I can understand why you wouldn't want to work with the younger kids. They can be irresponsible and hold back your project. I know some of the younger kids to and they aren't the most...helpful.
ReplyDelete@Javier What are we gonna be singing about?
ReplyDeleteMy timeline is going to be as long as I could be in STEM but I may not even get the position multiple years in a row, maybe not even this year.:(
ReplyDeleteMy timeline may not take two years, but probably like a year
ReplyDeleteWho is mmontes(KrispyB)?
ReplyDelete@karina micheal montes
ReplyDeleteOh, duh. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThis is a year capstone, and in will need to contact a Mesa police officer;)
