Hello Maroonavites,
Welcome back to Capstone. This semester we are going to focus on the development of a digital portfolio. The goal is to have electronic evidence of your project and how it develops over the coming months. Please read the wikipedia entry for Electronic Portfolios.
Next, brainstorm some ideas for your own electronic portfolio. What will be in it? What type of electronic media will you be using? Wiki? Blog? PowerPoint? Word Documents? Podcast? You want to dabble in as many forms as possible. This will help develop your skill set, both for school and for future employment. Additionally, you should consider your project, what types of media would work best for your project? Perhaps you want to create a pamphlet and might need access to Publisher, or you are working on music and need software to help you create your musical style.
In class assignment. Research electronic portfolios. Come up with a plan for your own portfolio. Also, you need to find an adult mentor to help with your project. Many of you have one already and probably are having an easier time with your project. Please share with the class how your adult mentor is helping and how you found someone to work with.
Have a great day!
Javier's adult mentor is the music teacher at the middle school. She has been helping Javier create lyrics. My mentor is my dad. He has been helping me work with the technology aspect of our project.
ReplyDeleteFor our capstone project we have multiple mentors for each of us. Cameron's mentor is his dad. He is teaching him how to use technology and ways to be creative with what he has at his disposal. Javier's mentor is mrs. Holly. She is a music teach from the asu middle school. She is teaching him all about music and how to create it. Channing's mentor is YouTube until he can find a real mentor.
ReplyDeleteMy mentors are my parents. My mom has taught at varying grade levels as a substitute and otherwise, so she knows some things about teaching. My stepdad is incredibly supportive and also knows how to do a lot of technology that I don't get.
ReplyDeleteI think I'm doing a blog of some sort, but I'm still researching.
My mentor is my Instructor from my Women's Self-Defense class, and her name is Mrs. Hornberger. She has been helping me with the facts and training me to a deeper understanding of AWSDA, so I will be able to train the girls correctly.
ReplyDeleteI probably should get a mentor...
ReplyDeleteI'll be your mentor!
